In a recent article in Healthline, it was reported that Melanoma takes the lives of more than 8,000 Americans every year that is why the The American Academy of Dermatology is advising all organizations whose members are too much exposed to sun rays to wear protective and effective sunblocks in order to avoid the onset of skin cancer and the like.
I was in a jeep yesterday when I noticed a man whose patches in his skin resemble like those formed by skin cancer. I feel for that man since I can tell that he can't even afford to buy himself a decent sandals and buying himself a sunscreen is way too impossible.
The American Academy of Dermatology provided 5 tips to protect ourselves from the sun's harmful rays.
- Use a topical sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher
- Cover up with long sleeved shirts, hats and sunglasses
- Check your skin every year around your birthday for signs of skin cancer
- Avoid being out in the sun between 10 AM and 4 PM
- Be extra careful near water, sand and snow due to reflective intensity
